fear

There's something heart wrenching about writing a short story and knowing you're going to show it to someone who has never seen your work before. You don't know how they're going to react, whether they'll like it hate it or even worse, have that completely blank stare on their face as they finish. It didn't mean anything to them.

"I've got a story, it's almost finished
all I need is someone to tell it to,
maybe, that's you..."

Oh man...

Amen.

This is why I usually only share my work with you. Writing, when done correctly, is like slicing a vein open, it showcases your vulernability. Not much hurts more than getting your writing shunned.

It seems liek the closer you are to someone the harder it is to show them
I've been doing it with you for so long, it's not a problem anymore...

That's an excellent fear, by one of the really good ones.

But it's does who aren't afraid of falling on their face and
having the strength to get back up are the ones who suceed.
